Overview

Best Dishes is designed to help you discover top‑rated dishes nearby or worldwide while respecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Anonymous Analytics

With your permission (on by default), we collect anonymous usage and performance data to understand how the app is used and to improve reliability. This data is not linked to your Apple ID, email, or name.

What we may collect:

What we do not collect in analytics: your name, email, Apple ID, review text, restaurant names, search queries, photos, precise GPS coordinates, or advertising identifiers (IDFA).

Who receives it: Events are sent over HTTPS to PostHog Cloud (hosted in the United States, e.g. us.i.posthog.com) for product analytics only—not for ads or cross‑app tracking.

Retention: PostHog retains event data according to its service terms (typically on the order of months on the free tier). We do not use analytics data to identify you personally.

Your control: In the app, go to Settings → Privacy & Analytics and turn off Share anonymous analytics at any time. When off, we stop sending new analytics events.

Account deletion: If you delete your account in the app, we rotate the anonymous analytics identifier on your device so it is not associated with a new session under the same install ID.

How We Use Information

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share personal data with third‑party advertisers. User content is stored in Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) and is visible within the app.

Anonymous analytics data is shared with PostHog solely to help us improve the app. We do not use analytics for cross‑app tracking or targeted advertising.
